Bach Dinh was built by the French from 1898 to 1916 as summer holiday house of French Governor Paul Doumer.

Alongside Tran Phu Street heading to Big Mountain, we can see a white mansion with red tile roof, which is outstanding among green trees on the mountain. It is Villa Blanche- B?ch Dinh. Bach Dinh was built by the French from 1898 to 1916 as summer holiday house of French Governor Paul Doumer. The building was named Villa Blanch after his favorite daughter’s name. The name Villa Blanch or Bach Dinh coincides its appearance. For that reason, the local people call it Bach Dinh (White palace) generally.
